Top 5 GA covers

Started this thread after reading the AF #15 SA thread.

 

Purely based on cover artwork and regardless of whether a book is a key or not what for you are the top 5 covers of the GA?

 

Please post images of your choices where possible.

Let's base it on the Board sections where GA = everything pre Showcase #4

I was unable to find that thread using but a more adept searcher might be able to.

In my estimation you have time periods of:

 

1. pre-hero

 

2. GA with Action 1

 

3. GA dead with MM92 or there abouts with the death of Dr. Horton in Marvel Mystery 92 H.T. visits him at his deathbed. Symbolic of the end of the GA era in a figurative sense.

 

4. "Dark" Age from 1950 until

 

5. Showcase 4 and the Silver Age

 

MY favorite covers

 

oh and limit one per cover artist, or they would all be Lou Fine
