Which Original Art Dealers Set-Up at San Diego Comic Con?

22 posts in this topic

Does anyone know which OA dealers regularly set-up at SDCC? Trying to figure out which ones will appear at this year's show but looking at the website it's hard to tell which sellers are OA dealers.

Are the OA dealers cool with taking requests to bring certain pieces to the show?

There's a few items I would rather buy in-person to save up on the cost of shipping & insurance and be able to use the savings for even more OA.

I ALWAYS set up at San Diego Con EVERY year with 4 BOOTHS, featuring some of the very BEST art at the convention, i set up with Mark Hay from SPLASH PAGE COMICS!

Our Booth numbers like last year should be 2501, 2502, 2503 and 2504: an ENTIRE ROW devoted ENTIRELY to original comic book art!

Combined we have about 10 THOUSAND pieces of original art in our overall display.

and YES.... I take requests and I can bring ANYTHING to the San Diego show to show people!

thanks!

Mike

In addition to those comic art dealers already mentioned, I noticed last year that Randy Martin (Mighty Nib) and Joe Gonzalez (Comic Art Ink) shared a booth at SDCC.

Mighty Nib - http://mightynib.com/

Comic Art Ink - http://comic-art-ink.com/

I saw Hans Kosenkranius from Tri-State Original Art at SDCC last year -

http://tri-stateoriginalart.com/

and Scott Eder had a booth at the show - http://www.scotteder.com/

and we shouldn't forget Big Sal in his dapper suit selling Alex Ross' and Simone Bianchi's work - http://www.alexrossart.com/

And good mate Steve Morger from Big Wow had a large booth although I don't think he brought much in the way of originals to sell, instead he had a booth-full of talented artists including Frank Cho, Cully Hamner, Brandon Peterson, Ted McKeever etc. http://www.bigwowart.com/

And I just remembered that Steve Robertson from Koch Comic Art was also there - http://kochcomicart.com/

Whew! Best,

Royd

There are some nice names on that list...but there are also a couple that I would not deal with if I was on fire and they had the last bucket of water on the planet. lol

. . . . .By the way, Superworld will be there too, and while we're not as well known as most of these other guys, we do have a good deal of vintage art.

We'll be up front, next to Metropolis, in booths 5418 and 5419.

Don't wanna get left outta the proceedings. Ha!

Last time I posted in this thread, I forgot (!) to mention that I will also be taking along folios of original art for each of the artists whose work I handle including:

Colin Wilson (Blueberry, Point Blank, Battler Britton, Rogue Trooper)

Nicola Scott (Teen Titans, Secret Six, Blackest Night: WW, Birds of Prey)

Ardian Syaf (Brightest Day, Superman/Batman, Green Lantern)

Ben Stenbeck (Witchfinder, Baltimore: Plague Ships)

Justin Randall (Changing Ways, 30 Days of Night: Eben & Stella)

I will be located at Steve Morger's Big Wow booth which will be in the midst of the Illustrator/Artist area near Artist Alley. Best,
