dichotomy
Hot out of the mail - just in from Denys Cowan. I asked for my two favorite characters of his and I think it’s fantastic. The two of them, in the wild and storm, starting a caper... celluloidbuff, MagnusX and Squeezy McSphincter
PixelPusher
Just before SDCC, this amazing Grifter and Zealot commission arrived from Chris Stevens via Felix! I adore his tight line art, but decided to go for my first painted commission. To me, it's perfection. Spidey 62
The Fraim Brothers did the original layout, based on the Hush gatefold cover, which included the blimp, spotlights, and bat signal. They are here at the show also and did the finishes on all of it, bringing the whole thing full circle.

dichotomy
Simon Bisely... what can one say about Simon Bisely? He's quite the character, and interacting with him, well, it requires a modicum of patience. The brief is a concept I've been toying with for a while, and will probably try with some others too, Wolverine and Dark Phoenix kissing, inspired by Klimpt's 'The Kiss'. Now, important life lesson here, when dealing with Simon you may want to mention 'clothed' when discussing commissions... As a result, the 'bluest' piece that I now own. Enjoy! Popular Post dichotomy
Another FanExpo in the books. Lets start with some commission stats - Overall I commissioned 6 pieces, 2 of them ahead of time. Of the 2 pre-orders, 1 was finished, 1 is still pending. Of the 4 pieces commissioned at the con, 2 were finished in time, and 2 will be mailed. About average? Overall I felt there was less access to some of the contemporary artists - the legends were pretty approachable. Clayton Crain though, I really wish he had had someone managing his work-load. Final thought - with commissions (as has been mentioned here before) you don't know what you are getting - sometimes you get a piece that may not have been what you were looking for, and sometime you get a piece that may be the best piece to come out of an entire con. Lee Bermejo did a Catwoman sketch cover for me that is absolutely insane. I would have preferred it on Bristol but it was literally a case of with which company he had a contract to do what kind of work. Nevertheless, he knocked it out of the park. I also got a remarque on my Damned 1 (at a pretty hefty price, I might add - apparently Bat- warrants big bucks). The second piece is from Elias Chatzoudis, which I also really like. Popular Post Subby1938
Toronto Fan Expo 2019 Well it was worth the wait . Jim Lee made a life long Namor fans dream come true. People always like to compare pieces and Instagram has been lit up over this commission. The original was done by two masters in their field . We all know it was a grail piece . Jim did this for me in his hotel room and I couldn’t be happier . It’s a rare Marvel character Commission done by one of the greatest ever. I’m so happy it’s mine! old genius vs new genius .... it’s still genius . Unstoppablejayd
Well following that sub-mariner up is not an enviable place (congrats btw!) but I wanted to share a couple pieces I got in the mail from Nate Stockman- First is a companion piece to a piece I have with colossus and wolverine- he did this of 80s Storm and kitty - I also could not resist this Dr Strange he had pre done. And then he sent me a quick Wolverine freebie for the multiple purchases lol. celluloidbuff
