High Web of Spider-Man #1 pricing

89 posts in this topic

I've sold stuff in their auctions before and I've always got extremely high prices for the books I've sold.

The only down fall about it is. It takes all most 2 months to get your money form them after the auctions end.

If you don't mind waiting for your money it's great!! I've already sent in 8 books for the June auction and I'm about to submit 10 to 20 more books for the June auction.

I love Lone Star Comics. They're always real easy to deal with and they pay top dollar for everything.

Web of Spider-Man #1 went for a fantastic price. Amazing Spider-Man #300 CGC 9.4 also did really well. I've posted a thread over in the Comics Market forum where I've posted some post-auction analysis:

Also, here's the still-growing preview of our June auction, includes lots of 9.8 copper and newer books:

Thanks for the praise! If you don't mind my asking, what's your name? I like to be able to match names to faces, so to speak--forum names to consignors.

Regarding payments, the following steps contribute to the delay before you're paid:

- In the case of auctions, time for buyer to pay. Auction payments are due by the Wednesday following auction ending on Sunday.

- Time for us to process and ship the order, often 3-5 days.

- Time in transit to the buyer, followed by 7 days after receipt in which the buyer can let us know if they intend to return anything--we don't want to pay the consignor before the sale is final. It's very rare that consignments are returned, but we still need to allow for it. We currently allow 3-5 weeks for time in transit and then the buyer review period. I plan to add functionality in which tracking information is automatically pulled into our system, so we'll know immediately when a shipment reaches the buyer. This improvement could shave 2-3 weeks off the time until you're paid.

- We currently issue payments twice a month on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. We're shifting to issuing payments weekly to further reduce the amount of time you wait before getting your payment. This improvement could shave another 1-2 weeks off the delay before you're paid. We may also offer PayPal payments, which would let us pay you immediately, as soon as the sale is final.

I love the dirt low shipping rate they charge, something like $3.95 for as many books as you want on ebay plus 5 cents each additional book. once i bought like 8 omnibuses from them and it was like basically free shipping. another time 22 overstreet price guides-another basically "free" shipping rate. Not for Canada :( It's actually around $9.50 for the first 9-ish comics, then it goes up from there. It's amazing packaging and all around the safest shipping you'll find, I just wish they had slightly lower rates.

Conan, do you think there's a possibility of implementing a "bubble mailer and cardboard for $3-5" shipping option to Canada? :foryou:

We would like to be able to provide cheaper shipping to Canada and are looking into it. We most likely would not offer a bubble mailer/envelope option though.

Fair enough. Maybe a smaller box mailer? Like, big enough for 1-5 comics only?

In regard to consignment payments: we will now be issuing payments upon item purchase for most sales, and are also offering a choice of payment via check or PayPal. If you choose PayPal, your payment can be issued essentially the next business day after purchase.
