Well, we are typical comic collectors, right?

 

Those paying nose-bleed prices for these are not typical collectors...

 

If anything, the exposure of the new TPB will create new fans who until then had not been exposed to this material.

 

OK...a little dose of reality is needed...

 

You were usually lucky to get one decent story out a typical monthly DC horror anthology. Unless DC selects specific stories for the TPB, and it's more likely they'll follow the Essential model and print them all in order, then what the reader gets is a lot of mediocre filler in between a couple good stories per volume. It'll do more to turn off potential readers than gain new collectors.

Could have a point there. Did they say, at what point the stories are starting? Because, it seems to me, the really bad ones turn up from 1966 to the end.

Now you know why I am mad. That was nicer than the 303 and 321 I sold him, both of which got better grades.

I have to agree with Andy. The book was perfect. There was a slight nbc on the back cover that I suspect is what brought the book down--but it doesn't make any sense. It looked like a 9.8 otherwise. I've experienced enough pain with CGC and grading to know that the book should've been a 9.4 AT THE LEAST.

 

Andy, the books were super-sweet so don't take the discrepency by CGC personally. CGC's grading like a box of chocolates--you don't know what you are going to get. Overall I'm very pleased with the latest results--at least I'm not needing the pregrade option anymore after my first painful lesson.

Not complaining, but that book was graded by 9.0 by Sulipa. Go figure. That is one kick arse cover--love it Your copy looks like a 9.6 to me.
