Nope...he's a local guy who lucked out on the Vancouver collection. It looks like he sold it because he also bought the ASM 1 CGC 9.6 last month. No way he could afford all these books without selling that collection. foreheadslap.gif

He also paid absolutely ridiculous prices for other Eerie and Creepy issues - most sold for 10-20x NM guide and he won almost every single one. makepoint.gif

I've beaten him on a few (nothing recently), but he's a tough one to snipe...I just hope for the money that the mag is nice and flat in the holder (see my thread: 'Magazines do not always lie flat in CGC holders' in Comics General). I'm sure there are quite a few strictly graded raw Creepy and Eerie issues out there that would make at least 9.8 grade and which may cost 3 or 4 times guide tops to acquire. After slabbing fee, you'd still be better off than the prices these eBay items are fetching. It may be the first 9.9, but it won't be the last - especially not in that issue number range of Warren mags.

Seems like he's on a quest to have the best magazine collection in the world - oh well, guess I'll have to settle for second best... 27_laughing.gif I'm sure he can't be buying to sell, at least not the expensive high grade books.

I was at a con in atlanta this weekend lokoing to fill in some holes...after being there for a while and not finding anything that I wanted to buy I was thinking that I would buy some old playboys and stuff that a couple of the people were selling...I didnt...used porno seems to turn me off...but that might just be my crazy hang up...I also love that this guy spent 106k on a spiderman book and then he spend $3 on his next purchase....man that guy went on a spree..
