Nice thing about Batgirl 13. No variant covers just that issue.

Bedlam Forbidden Planet variant I see some issues ahead. I hope that guy selling them on ebay does actually get his copies or he is in a heck of a pickle. Overseas buyers are telling us that FP can and will cancel orders all the time. If I was that store I would definitely jacked the price by now.

yup...

"*PLEASE NOTE: This is an ‘open order’ and has not been billed or processed by our Mail Order department.

and...

"All products are subject to availability.

forbiddenplanet.com reserves the right to change prices."

I have a couple of orders open with them at the moment and won't pre-sell them.

Batgirl in the UK is getting to the $30 range!!! Guess that what happens if retailers didn't know / were not told about the tie in for comics before the order deadline.

At NYCC, I sold 100 Batman #13's for $5 ea & 100 Batgirls for $15 ea BY noontime Saturday.

Batman was priced to $10, & Batgirl $20 on other tables.

It will be pretty funny in a few weeks when the same ole board members remind me what a terrible speculation play the Bat 13's were.

meh... I think the Batman #13 A's are great for you with large quantities but not as likely to light any fires with people flipping a few to support their own comic / OA habit :)

Catwoman #13 is vanishing...

http://www.comicdomain.co.uk/ - sold out

https://www.inter-comics.com/ - sold out

http://www.ltd-edition-comix.com/ - sold out

http://www.megacitycomics.co.uk/ - limit 1 per (potentially sold out on pre-order already)

http://forbiddenplanet.com - orders open but they always are and they will cancel on you last minute if sold out

http://www.disposableheroes.co.uk/ - sold out

http://www.wolfcomics.com - sold out

http://amazing-fantasy-comics.com/shop/ - 21 left

http://www.reedcomics.com/ - Not listed yet (assume it will be priced by the market i.e. Batgirl #13 was selling at £9.99 then £14.99 before selling out at this shop)

http://www.avaloncomics.co.uk/ (possibly available)

There are a couple of other places that have sold out that I can't recall off of the top of my head. There are some that have not listed yet or are collect / phone order only. Signs are strong on this one going the same way.

oh thanks,I should have been more clear though, I mean when copies of Batgirl 13, Batman 13 etc start showing up on newsstands rather than direct comic store market, I checked some newsstands Friday and they were still stocked with the prior issue.

You do realize the title of the thread implies sales on Ebay, right? No one has ever faulted you for being able to make sales in person, at your store or a con. But that's not really helping folks here. Plus, selling books for $1 above cover also doesn't really help people here. 1) Most folks here don't have your sales avenue: B&M and cons; and 2) Most don't have your discount off cover, likely 50% or so.

I, for one, don't mind you posting your picks here. It's the crowing of "wins", like your post above, that are grating. Especially, when they aren't really wins which are replicable.

Snicker all you want. I wasn't referring to the Batgirl books. I was meaning the $5 Batmans.

Nobody's trying to be adversarial here, Larry. Just trying to remind you that most boardies won't have any reason or ability to replicate your $5 Batman 13 sales.

It's a good play for us and a great play for you.

actually Batgirl #13 is dead.

I just sold my last copy to a boardie for less than cover plus shipping.

But hey, I'm just on the boards to chat and help (thumbs u

I am shocked that so many comic retailers sell comics for more than cover price the week that they are released. That would definitely cause me to stop shopping at a store. I'm not pointing the finger at Larry b/c he's at a Con, but I've noticed more and more shops that take comics from there shelves and crank up the price for ebay or for sales in there own store for more than cover the week that they are released. Is this no longer considered poor form for a retailer?

+1 - it bums me out to go to my LCS and a new book is already marked $10. What the heck. Just don't put it out an list it on eBay. Just saying.

I "never" sell comics above cover at my shop. ( variants excluded ) & have built up a mid size retail volume over the years.

My shop variants sell for COVER PRICE in the store.

The entire program is designed to build foot traffic in store. The day of a new release we get fans from 4 states.

batman #13 & Batgirl is in stock right now at cover price. I order great & customers appreciate it. My new comic stock is a KEY reason fans take the time to visit my retail shop.

I figure online & conventions are fair game to charge whatever the market will bear & I order for all classes of my business.
