The report confirms that both "Amazing Spider-Man" star Andrew Garfield and "Amazing" director Marc Webb are out

Sources also claim they are changing her name from Gwen to Gwem, so the old school collectors will stop belly achin'.

Those two actors look awfully light skinned to play Miles Morales.

This is a quote from the press Release

"This new level of collaboration is the perfect way to take Peter Parker's Story into the future".

Fans of Ultimate Spider-Man Miles Morales need not give up hope; the article states that the studio still "needs to figure out whether it wants to go with another Peter Parker or introduce another character that suits up as Spider-Man, including Miles Morales, whose father is African American and mother is Puerto Rican."

I guess no one saw the "label updates" from CGC in the "Ask CGC" thread

And the winner is

"So we've talked about it in the grading room and this is what we did -

Avenging Spider-man #9 -

1st Carol Danvers as Captain Marvel, predates Captain Marvel #1 (9/12)

Captain Marvel #1 -

Carol Danvers becomes the new Captain Marvel.

Iron Man Wal-Mart Custom Comic

1st appearance of Phil Coulson in comics (out of Marvel Universe continuity).

Battle Scars #1

1st appearance of Phil Coulson in Marvel Universe continuity.

X-Men Annual #14

Gambit cameo (pre-dates Uncanny X-Men #266)"

Label Updates

Got these back from CGC 3 days ago and there is NO notation regarding it.

I kind of liked Jae Lee's take on Inhuman's and his stint on X-Factor during the X-Cutioner's Song series. To each there own though, I want to punch Mike Allred in the face every time he takes over a series because of how bad his art is. I figured I always know when Marvel is purposely trying to tank a series when his name is attached to it. Same can be said with Squirrel Girl and honestly the previews of the new Silk series.

I opened the first page of Squirrel Girl, saw the art, and simply put the comic in my daughter's pull list pile of Adventure Time, Regular Show, and Pony ...

And the Silk series.... ANYONE would have been better than what they released as the preview to me.

I didn't buy X-Factor until Allred took over. I loved it. :cloud9:

It may have been the writing/art combo that I enjoyed, but I would never call his artwork bad. It's just a different style.

Also, I haven't read Squirrel Girl, but perhaps it's just not the right book for him to be drawing. (shrug)

2c

Same here. One of my favorite runs of the modern age.

Everyone has their own tastes.

One person loved all X-Force besides Allred.

I sold all of mine except the Allred stuff.

Patrick

The only X title I've bought in the last 40 years was Milligan/Allred's X-Force/X-Statix. Great stuff! Reading the whining in the lettercol from fans of the book's previous version made it even more enjoyable.

Before Milligan and Allred created a masterpiece, X-Force was maybe one of the most grotesque examples of consistently bad 90's comics ever created.
