8 posts in this topic

The high grade consignments and collections continue to come in for Pedigree Comics’ upcoming November Grand Auction. This special online event is scheduled to begin in just over one week on the night of Monday, November 7th, and last for seven (7) days until the evening of Monday, November 14th. The auction will have close to 300 choice high grade CGC certified Marvels and DC’s from the Silver and Bronze Ages plus many other great books to choose from, including a fabulous group of Golden Age books, many from the Edgar Church/Mile High Collection. Almost every comic is a 9.4 or higher (18 out of 20) while half are 9.6 or 9.8! Most of the books are the highest CGC graded copy. Here is the list from this amazing new consignment:

The final group of books comes from an original owner collection of 1,250 comics out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that was debuted at the recent New York Comic Con in New York City just two weeks ago. Almost every book offered in the auction (40) from this collection is a CGC graded 9.4 and higher with white or off-white to white page quality and the few that didn’t grade that high are 9.2’s. Titles include Amazing Spider-Man Annual, Captain America, Fantastic Four, Fantastic Four Annual, Green Lantern, Incredible Hulk Annual, Journey Into Mystery, Tales to Astonish, Thor and X-Men. The 40 comics were all cherry-picked at the comic con and were the nicest books in the collection. Almost incredibly, the books were never bagged or boarded, they were read only once and then just stacked in neat piles on a shelf. The original owner had the foresight to alternate the issues on top of each other so as to prevent spine rolls. The books are flat, glossy and newsstand fresh with exceptional eye appeal. The books will be uploaded next weekend into the Auction Preview and in time for the auction commencement.

Make sure to check this space and the Pedigree Comics website next week for all the new announcements and latest additions for the auction. There are still well over 100 books to be added, many from the New York Comic Con.

We will continue to accept consignments for the auction, even after the auction commencement, until midnight on Thursday, November 10th, so check the site (www.PedigreeComics.com) for consignment instructions and get your books in now.

If you have any questions or comments about the consignment process, any of the auction lots or about the Grand Auction in general, as well as how to consign your CGC graded books for the November Grand Auction, please contact Pedigree’s CEO and President, Doug Schmell, at (561) 422-1120 (office) or (561) 596-9111 (mobile) or by email at DougSchmell@pedigreecomics.com. For any financial related and consignment payment questions, please contact Pedigree's CFO Lisa Shapiro at Lisa@pedigreecomics.com and for any technical related questions or concerns, please contact their Web Master at WebDesigner@pedigreecomics.com.

Consignors maximize their profits selling in a Grand Auction, more so than on any other auction site or auction house. We do not charge a Buyers Premium, an amount that most bidders take into consideration when bidding in other sites (the bidders simply deduct that Buyers Premium amount from their final bidding price, meaning less $$ to the consignor and more to the auction site). The higher the value of your book(s) that sell in a Grand Auction, the more $$ you take home under Pedigree Comics’ Climbing Scale. We consistently set new sales records for Silver and Bronze Age comics in each Grand Auction and on our regular site inventory. Grand Auctions are unique and exciting, with new and diversified, top-rated CGC material in each event. Why settle for less by consigning with someone else?

Prospective consignors can also upload their own scans, item information, descriptions and reserve amounts for the November Grand Auction by utilizing the Automated Consignment System. It is actually very easy and fun to do. Just register onto the site, click "Customer Page" under "Your Account" and then click "Consignments" (under "Auctions"). You will then be able to enter the Pedigree Comics Consignment Management System and upload your own CGC certified books and magazines. We will receive an email notification automatically once you have uploaded the information and we will then review the information imparted for accuracy. The item(s) will then be added to the November Grand Auction to be bid on. You will be amazed how simple it is to utilize the Automated Consignment System.

I'm not getting into a pro or con discussion on Doug, but this is uncool etiquette.
