I still wouldn't rule out a sequel. Warner Brothers still invites writers in all the time to pitch their take on Beetlejuice 2. A good friend of mine did just that about two years ago and the executives were ga-ga about his ideas. He thought he had the job, then all the execs played musical chairs and ended up at other companies.

 

Warner Brothers(like all studios) tracks public recognition of their characters, and Beetlejuice always tracks high. If all the planets align, they'll make a sequel.
