Looks like there were five Punisher books with a July 1994 cover date.

He would have been about 12 there. I didn't know he was that into comics, when he found out I liked comics he asked for some reading recommendations and said he used to read them but I thought it would have been far more casual than being familiar with creative teams and writing letters. I haven't done that.
