NOOOO!!!!! My First PLOD!!!!

77 posts in this topic

Another reason why sellers should be obliged to spell it out when the book is a PLOD, I mean SOMEWHERE in the description. I'm sure this happens fairly frequently to inexperienced buyers.

Do you want we should go to war and bombard this jerk with emails? devil.gif

Too late. Cszpetecki has been sent this blue-trimmed e-mail....

"Please, in future, if you are selling a restored CGC book, at least have the courtesy to mention it somewhere in your description that it's restored. An inexperienced friend of mine purchased your X-Men 124 recently, without realizing it was restored. Of course, he SHOULD have known, but it's just the decent thing to do.

Regards, Brad "

He's been an E-Bay member since Jan 2001 so he should know better. Probably has multiple accounts, since he only has 29 feedbacks. I wouldn't have given him a positive feedback so fast, though, Steve.

Interesting coincidence. I own a 9.2 PLOD of the same issue that is up for sale on eBay right now. I originally bought it slabbed. No writing on first page like yours, but has small amount of color touch on cover.

Sorry you found out about yours the hard way.

Here's the auction link.....

Ya hadda' know, right Steve?

YUP....I'm gay.

Two weeks ago, I didn't even know what restored was ( 27_laughing.gif ) and it didnt say restored in the auction. I barely figured out what PLOD meant like 5 days ago...and now I have one!!!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

I'm a . insane.gif

geez - this had me confused as hell............coming from one who probably shouldn't be lecturing anyone on restored books (me), with 430 posts in about 5 weeks, i would have expected that you'd have recognized the Purple label. but, as redhook said, a valuable lesson (which will never be forgotten) for under $30, isn't a bad thing.

and i like the idea of giving it to Asia devil.gif

You could leave a neg for non-disclosure, but the seller would say that it was obviously a PLOD. Plus he'll neg you back, no doubt.

Live and learn.....

Ooops. You already left him a Pos FB. foreheadslap.gif

Thanks bro, I appreciate the support. I left decent feedback because I should have known better...that big fat purple label was staring at me when I bought it.

UGH...but you guys are right, they don't list that stuff to snag n00bs like me.

BUT

that is why I joined these forums...to learn. Plus, these forums allow you guys to get a laugh too and it make the best of a screwed up situation! After I have been here for awhile...it will be ME laughing at some other n00b in the same situation I am in now. wink.gif

C'mon,

Don't you think a NEG would have been a bit extreme?

The book was

CLEARLY

a PLOD from the scans the seller provided. 893naughty-thumb.gif

No, I don't think an outright neg would be in order. You couldn't charge the guy with dishonesty.....just...um....lack of total honesty.

And don't worry Steve, we are laughing with you, not at you. We've all had to learn some lessons along the way. Welcome to the club! thumbsup2.gif
