If I have some books that will not fit into one Priority box and I split them up into two Priority boxes, can I tape the two Priority boxes together to make one package out of it?

You can, but they will still charge you for both flat rate boxes. You could grab the size down non-flat rate (if you can find them) and tape them together. The package will then be weighed and priced accordingly.

I'm guessing that will be a big negatory good buddy. PO don't cotton to no shenanaghins.

Shenanigans is a word that is not used often enough.

Cotton is even better. I am going to try to shoehorn that into a conversation today.

I am not sure about the 70's CB "good buddy" stuff though.

They're regular Priority boxes. Not flat rate boxes.

I just need them to go to the same place and wanted to keep them together.

Your best bet is to take them to the PO and ask them. Of course, whatever they say may not be the same as what someone down the line at the next PO says.

I've taped two Priority boxes in a similar fashion (using them to ship artwork flat) and it's fine - you just have to send it Priority.

+1

I've received a package packed exactly this way. I thought it was a good idea.

Postage was the Priority weight of the two packages.

Yes, you can do that and they treat it as one package. Now run along!

I don't care if you are legally allowed to do it, unless you are using Mythbuster amounts of duck tape i wouldn't do it

the duck tape was a welcome home present for RMA, don't ruin it you

I have tape that can secure it without worry. (thumbs u

But aren't you afraid your girlfriend will escape if you use it all on the box?

Lots of times, especially if I have a tall piece of something...I slit the edges so they fit into each other and use lots of tape. Duct tape is good;)

Just can't use flat rate.

Cotton is great for stuffing boxes...(someone mentioned Cotton;) Sometimes I pick up rolls of batting at craft sales.
