Grading contest

It sounds like fun Nick, a grading of CGC contest.

 

Are they loose at the moment, or tight to make up for the last season?

 

 

I can't say but I plan to finalize the list by the end of the week

 

a) scan them all

b) wrote down all defects that aren't visible from the scans

c) call CGC to arrange a drop off date

d) finalize the rule and scoring system

e) start the contest

 

 

......and wait 6 months for the result :tonofbricks:

 

as mentioned, there are Gold to modern in a wide range of grades and many are barely slab worthy. The toughest part is picking 30 out of 50 or so books that will be a challenge to the board. I love high grade but it isn''t 30 9.4 to 9.8 slabs.

here is a glimpse of what is on the pile

 

for Golden age

Superman 12 and 16

Captain Marvel Adventures 29

and perhaps a few more

 

for silver age

ASM 8, 45, 54, 61

X-men 4, 24, 57 and a few more

FF, TOS, Silver Surfer 1, and so many more

 

as an added bonus...one of the book is a Robojo33 purchase made before I joined the forum. For whichever book you think is the Robojo33 book, you will need to give the grade you think it is and the grade you think Robo gave it.

 

whoever get both grades right , the book is yours.

 

if more than one person got it right, then I will donate more prizes.
