Haha I swear Saga has sidetracked my efforts in collecting silver age keys. For 2014, I hope to acquire my BB28 or Xmen 1.

That is why you fail. :baiting:

Never do something that dumb ever again. :P

Just giving you a hard time, but yea proven Keys are much better than a book such as Saga.

Saga (which who knows if they wont be dollar books in ten years) versus SA keys is a much wiser allocation of your money.

If anything just own the RRP #1 cause the rest will never be worth much of anything as they are currently barely hitting $50 for CGC 9.8's from 2 on up.

Buy the RRP and rest just trade paperback the rest.

I really enjoyed the first 4 issues, but the book lately has fell off pretty hard for me.

CGC prices will be down going forward. Glad I dumped them all while I had the chance.

I fail? Maybe. But I like the book and the series and will continue to buy slabbed copies of the modern I enjoy the most . I may not make any money off it, but I have a subscription service at $35 each month which i think is a bargain... Also, I just sold issue #11 for $69. So that pretty much doubles my money there.

I will also continue to buy my silver age keys like I planned. =) I'm aware that silver keys are less volatile than moderns.

At the end of the day, I collect and buy what I like with the money I earn.I don't buy comics as an investment. I do it as a hobby. I have a 401k and Roth IRA for retirement. 2 cents.

Also, I'm not against Trades like you suggested. But Saga and EoW are the two moderns that I buy floppies of. I can't wait for the trades, because I like the story and I want to read it every month.

That's like refusing to go the movies to watchThor or the next x-men, because it will come out on next flix eventually. Sure some people can do that, but other people want to experience it right when it releases. I'm one of those people.

Im with you jreezy. Im a hardcover collector myself, and if its a series ill only read once, trades. But I'm buying saga and east of west in floppies, and getting them signed and slabbed. Not because I think that they're a dynamite investment, but because I genuinely love both of these series, and think they are something special. Im lining the walls of my Collection room with my cgc books, and so far, its been mostly saga, east of west, hellboy, and claremonts run on uncanny x men. Collect what you love, not what you think can be sold. Theres better investments out there than comics.

How old are you?

Assuming you are under 30. ( I am 33)

Just saying cause you are saying words like floppies.

I thought you meant floppy disks when I first started using computers we had to save our computer work on them. lol

Listen I know everyone should just collect what they enjoy of course. I am just too opinionated on owning comic books from 1990 to now and taking up space in one's home where most issues are not worth the cover price you just paid for them.

Take WD for example. For me buying the trades in some form for all the issues just makes more economical sense instead of wasting money on every issue. Just invest in the keys or sought after issues and buy the remainder in trades.

WD #1-9, 19, 27, prison arc, and call it a day.

That just works for me.
