your response seems dismissive, hence the hint of close minded

closed minded much?

The funny thing is, every time there's a post like this, it's the poster's first.

How do you mean?

Welcome to the boards John. I kinda like the cut of your jib. You're willing to

ask questions and you aren't afraid to get on the mat and wrestle with the critics.

You're right, CGC isn't perfect and has made mistakes but I will take their

business model of three graders and hiding the identity of the books owner

over the PGX model of the owner buying books at shows, grading them and

flipping them for extreme profits. There is a serious conflict of interest in that

practice.

Fair enough, thanks for the straightforward answer.

If you use the search function, key in PGX and search 'newer than 1 year' and

'older than 1 day' you should be able to find a few threads about PGX. I believe

the last one was initiated by designerpost and it dealt with the owner of PGX

buying at a local convention, grading them-very high, and then selling them.

A grading company should never buy and sell the items they are tasked with

grading.

i read that post about Ryan Elliot buying a book, and regrading it and selling it. and the follow up post that the OP got a call from Elliot, who apparently didn't like his business practices being exposed.

I don't know about ACE, and have never seen a book from their grading service.

outside of an image, has anyone?

Yes. Somewhere I have an ACE Silver Surfer # 4, ACE graded 4.0 or something like that.

not a bad holder. The label is not quite secured, but had they hung around, they could have made it...

CAL who has several "oddities" from the defunct start ups...

It pistol whips Costner's Wyatt Earp into the dust (thumbs u and Kilmer is in great form as Doc Holliday.

I love the western genre in general but I'm a massive fan of the spaghetti western.

The Leone films

The Great Silence

Death Rides A Horse

A Bullet For The General

Django Kill, If You Live Shoot
