I'm going to venture slightly lower - I have a CFD #1 with similar spine issues and I'm going to assume there's some non-color breaking spine ticks/bends that we can't see. I've never understood why the CFD books always had such beat up spines...

I think 8.5 is absolute top end. More like 8.0
