I'm so glad they manned up and slapped an R on this. As long as the flick is done well, the box office should be fine.

Umm...the Stallone version was Rated R 15 years ago. Didn't help it much.

 

I think it's going to help maintain the potential for ultra-violence that we have come to know and love about Dredd. Can you imagine how toned down it would be with a PG-13 rating? I can't even get vampire tltties in Twilight movies with a PG13 rating, for cripes sake.

I dont think this movie will do well regardless the rating ?

Some times I think they go for a R rating to get teenagers to go to a bad movie by tossing in some violence or nudity ?

But it very well could be. Its all about the guys making it. If they are competent and embraced the comics cuz they dug the read..... it could be excellent. Whether it makes money or not (shrug)
