Ok,im back.

First off though lets establish a few points here.

1.I'm still a newbie,a neophyte,a virgin if you will.

I'm like Arnold in Twins, ive read all the theory, but havent gone to real world yet.

With this forum and all the fantastical knowledge you guys bring,im getting there real quick.

2.Apart from buying art at conventions or commissions,my chances of actually finding stuff out of the blue were rather slim right ?

And i didnt have OA in mind anyways,so finding this is pretty spectacular to me.

I really expected this fella to come out of his room with some unknown local or Yougoslavian artist or sumtin.

What i get is a nice splash page,a Thor one at that and signed by someone who some people find a great loss because of his early passing.

My first reaction was of course to sell it,but now ...well now...im just not sure.

And Yesterday we talked.A lot,Actually he did and me and my buddy listened to his life stories. It was awesome.

So yesterday,i did only buy a few things but like i said, next week while on vacation,we plan on opening quite a few hundred boxes and try and trigger more memories.

So this is what i bought for now...

One Racket squad in action no.3

And a few film programs,

And one last item below...

Film programs

One crazy guy who speaks to animals and very first Cinerama program.

Hills are alive...and....hills are in flame.

IMG_0629.jpg

Last item.Being a major major fan i jumped on it.

This.

IMG_0618.jpg

5 folders from 1981 filled with large pristine cover reproductions of E.C titles.

30 for Tales from the crypt,24 for Weird science,18 for Shock..etc..

IMG_0622.jpg

IMG_0621.jpg

IMG_0620.jpg

I mean,PRISTINE.

IMG_0622.jpg

Logic dictates that they made a folder for EVERY title of course,so this is in no way complete.

But to me its a terrific start.

I have followed your instructions to the letter....so......

My pops is indeed cold and buried 20 years :eyeroll: , beers and munchies at hand.

Can't wait to see what treasures hidden in that massive collection.

You're too funny Dave...in a morbid kind of way. :)

Tomorrow's Wednesday folks !

Time to open a ton of unidentified, unlabeled boxes !

Time to search dusty lower shelves hidden behind heavy sofas !

Time to scrutinize,to identify,to reveal,to release from

the dark closets of time !

:applause::banana::whee:

G'nite gents and ladies.

So yesterday's search was pretty uneventful comics wise, although i did find a Treasury Whiz hardcover, but the dust jacket is sad to look at.

A few others which i will post tonight. Some Dr.Strange issues.

Again we only emptied the one closet from the pic in the original post.

and not behind the 2 libraries so we'll keep our hopes up.

I did find really neat film stuff like a Ce3K portfolio and a Jack Finney's Time and again first edition hardcover.

And i finally bought his entire Starlog,Fangoria and Cinefex collections.

I wish there was a way to snap my fingers and have the 250 circus-related books and the 350 military books all disappear leaving only the film and comics stuff.

Ahhhh, but we must remember, the joy is not in the destination but the getting there.

Tomorrow,my buddy and i are opening those boxes behind one of the libraries.

From what Giovanni told us,these have not been opened for a good 15-20 years.

Those should be good for a few more surprises.I'm counting at least 20 boxes.

It truly is like a giant Tetris room in there, trying to figure out which 5 boxes to move here, open them, check inside while moving the couch there and leaving just enough room to walk to the phone and bathroom.

Think i'll try to convince him to move stuff in the corridor of the building.

Wish me luck !
