Marty, since you must be close to 80, why have none of the grandchildren or great grandchildren been after all these books of yours! My kids ask about mine, but not because they are interested in anything but what they might be worth! And I don't have grandkids yet!

Thanks for asking.

Both of my sons collect comics and old newspaper comic sections.

My two grandchildren join in and love to read my old comics like this one.

This was the first BATMAN I ever had...bought it off the

newsstand in 1945.

Marty, I collect these war bonds covers (and I just got my own copy of that one, only 68 years late lol ). I've wondered how much impact the war bonds ads had on kids - and now I can ask one! Did it make much impression on you - such as asking the folks about buying bonds etc? That's what they were meant to do, of course. Or did you just skip straight to the stories?

There were reminders everywhere during those years.

Each week I would take 10 cents to school to buy a

savings stamp...when you filled the book you received

a $25.00 Savings Bond.

This was one of my favorite radio programs as a kid...and

was surprised to find this comic on the newsstand.

Saw a copy of this at METROPOLIS COLLECTABLES with "...logo clipped",

upper one third missing. I didn't know that METROPOLIS sold remainder

copies...or that there was even a real market for them.

Oh, sure. They sell books that have the logo clipped, the back cover missing, are coverless, have pages missing, and so on. Provided the book is one that has some collecting interest, they figure it will sell.
