Even though I have quite a few LOONEY TUNES & MERRIE MELODIES

COMICS...this is the only all BUGS BUNNY COMIC I have in my collection.

Again, this was an other one bought off the rack at W.T. GRANTS.

Along with quite a few LOONEY TUNES & MERRIE MELODIES COMICS

(which I have because I was given a subscription to them for a Christmas

present), I have quite a few WALT DISNEY'S COMICS & STORIES...here

is the first one I bought.

Thanks...I really enjoy showing it...who would have guessed back in the 40's

& 50's when I bought these books that I would be sharing them through the air,

Thank you for your kind words!

I think the thing I remember the most from those days is the availability

of comic books. You could find them on newsstands, corner stores, the

Five & Ten's, Drug Stores, Ice Cream Parlors and one of my favorite

locations, the Union News Stand in the Railroad station. They always

seemed to have the best assortment of Street & Smith comics...right

there next to the pulp magazines.

I remember seeing the first EC's on the newsstand and realizing

that they were different...besides a lot of them had stories by RAY

BRADBURY and that was enough for me to buy them. Many of the

EC's I picked up were remainder copies for 5 cents each.

This was one of my first...

I like that one too and purchased a second copy for an upgrade. However, I still have both of them and I like to see them in the box with some of my other favorite Weird Science and Weird Fantasy covers. 8684991910_62fb0ef0ca_c.jpg

You bought that off the newstand and still have it! (worship)

Here is my copy, but I paid more than 5 cents.

Overstreet states that the first five "FLYING SAUCER ISSUES" were:

1- The SPIRIT Section (9/28/47)

2- SHADOW COMICS V7 #10 (1/48)

3- CAPTAIN MIDNIGHT #60 (2/48)

4- BOY COMMANDOS #26 (3-4/48)

5- FOUR-COLOR #190 (6/48)

In going through my collection I see I have copies of #3 and #5.

Unless there is already one posted, "FLYING SAUCER COVERS" could be a thread of it's own.

Now that you mention it, Flying Saucers were a very significant theme in entertainment for years. You should have the honors to start one... I would enjoy it.
