I just finished reading "The Ten-Cent Plague: The Great Comic-Book Scare and How It Changed America" by David Hajdu. Wow! Talk about panic in America. It's funny to think of what is available today through comics, books, TV, movies and The Internet - makes the 40's & 50's look pretty tame.
