I've got the casino page pop up on my IE browser as well. If anyone knows how to get rid of it please pass it on.

I think this might work... (taken from www.cybertechhelp.com)

casino palazzo = wmplayer.exe

Nasty people huh?

Yes, casino palazzo over writes the real wmplayer.exe so you no longer have WMP that's

why it doesn't work.

You want to get over to Panda scan

http://www.pandasoftware.com/active...n_principal.htm

click on Scan my PC and keep going through the buttons saying Yes to any

Security Warnings that popup so the Panda Java applets can download. At the end of

the button clicks select Hard drives and scan that. Get a sandwich, it takes awhile.

It's going to nuke wmplayer.exe and any other junk you've got on there. Post the Panda log

so we can see the junk, techies like to see dead worms and spyware

Go to M$ to get your WMP back (version 9)

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/wi...ies/player.aspx

They are coming out with a WMP 10 but it's ßeta for now. Let everyone else go through

the bugs and when it's solid it should show up at the Windows Update site under

recommended updates.

And just remember, you can always replace your hard drives. They are pretty inexpensive (a hundred at most) and sometimes, it can be more efficient to replace and start over. You can actually keep both hard drives but have the main operating system on one machine.

And Major, I have Spybot and Norton Antivirus -- so far, I'm virus-free. 893crossfingers-thumb.gif

My Norton expired a while back and I haven't renewed it... yet. 27_laughing.gif I'll be doing it this afternoon. Anything to prevent a repeat of all of this.

It looks like between "Panda" and my own digging we've taken care of the whole mess. But that's true about hard drives! I saw a 160gig for $75! Nutty!
