Picked this one up today.

 

Nasty dust shadow, otherwise a pretty sharp book.

It is a sharp book, well-centered which is rare, but the heavy dust shadow and rippled edge on the back cover, along with other defects would lower the grade a lot in my eyes.

 

I'd probably need to see a book like this first hand because assessing the extent of the defects is problematic from a scan (e.g., does the back cover wrinkling as apparent on the inside of the cover as it is on the outside?; is there any element of brittleness to the dust damaged areas?)

 

I apologize for my negativity, but I am probably sitting at no more than a 6.0.

Yes, I’d say F- or so (5.5), because of the shadow.

Are the "shadows" like this created by the sun, by dust, by exposure to air (while the rest of the comic is covered), or by all of the above?

 

This particular shadow looks like it could be lighted somewhat maybe by a drycleaning.

I'm at FN- Very nice book in spite of shadow...the shadow is still pretty subtle given the adjacent colors...although as some have mentioned can't say I've seen a shadow that dark before as well...nice book!
