i am loving the no nonsense, down to business answers you are giving everyone to their questions. You almost need your own thread, stickied by the mods, called "ask eric".

Here is a question:

There seems to have been a big boost in readership of books that got Image Firsts. If only already popular series get them, does that hold back less popular series from possibly getting the exposure of being re-printed as a "firsts"?

Eric as you are here - whats your thoughts on the excessive number of Bedlam variants?

Did it help or hinder Images plans for this book?

For the first issue?

I think the pre-release NYCC variant helped. It raised awareness of the book and got some buzz going, which resulted in an increase in orders. We sold out pretty quickly and the second print sold out as well.

Very true for me. I discovered Bedlam only because of the NYCC variant buzz on this forum, and I love the book.

Well, we do them where we see a need. Generally speaking, it helps if a book has a trade paperback or two to promote with the Image First edition, because otherwise, it may be impossible for someone to find issues 2-up. That's why we did Phonogram, for example, because there were two trades out there, and we wanted to give shops an easy way to get people into those two books. Same with things like Proof and Age of Bronze.

We'll be doing more in the not-too-distant future.

awesome, thanks for the info  .

and for the record, Fatale is one of my favourites, and has fallen out of favor with speculators, (which is great for the pocketbook), but Image Firsts definitely reignited interest in the book from what I have observed.

Hit 4 LCS here in San Diego and didn't find one copy of #3. All sold out. Oddly enough, I found some #1 first prints though. Shop owner said that the book was listed as a 1 of 4 mini in the initial ordering process. So he didn't order as much. What was the print run on #3? Seems severely underordered.

Kinda mad that I cant read the book right now.
