12 posts in this topic

After a few years off,i'm going to do some 3d again so i check out a couple of websites for much needed inspiration.

I'm ok,but these guys are masters.

This is from CGsociety.org

Here is the artist's page,he changed the lighting and got a sort of zombie Stan all pale and ghastly.

Perfect for Halloween.

That Stan Lee is shockingly good. The neck, shirt and forehead are perfect. (Got darn close to nailing the hair as well) really great. Ben, you have to post more of this stuff when you find it man!

Reminds me years back of an FX guy that showed up at a convention with a massive realistic version of Smiths head(FX Guru who did things like the Exorcist, real nerdcore stuff) -- I love this stuff!

The second picture gets a massive thumbs up!!! Among other things.

I have a friend who's a make-up artist. He took the Dick Smith course, and they gave him a whole folder of slides with famous shots from the sets he worked on.

I tell you,he has slides of a creepy 12-year old Linda Blair close-up in full gory make-up.You'd swear these were taken yesterday.

I'm a little slow and out-of-touch with all this hi-tech stuff, so please indulge me: are you saying that the picture of Stan you posted above is a digital "3D" computer-generated image (even though it looks like a flat, 2D photo on my screen), or an actual, physical sculpture?

That was really what my point posting a 3D picture was.I couldn't tell the difference, the pic looked like a 2D picture. (shrug)
