Years ago, I spoke with a few artists about the crummy art appearing in Marvel / DC Comics back in the 90s. One of the things mentioned was the lack of experienced art editors looking over submitted artwork making corrections on anatomy, etc. No one around to keep story art at an acceptable standard.

I just started the book today and love it! It's already changed my entire perception of Martin Goodman. Knowing his history sheds light on how he did things and why he wanted what he wanted. I'm still not completely through chapter 1!
