But bashing aside, I keep coming back. Sometimes I dunno why. Most times I laugh. So its not THAT bad. To me

Funniest thing I've seen in years. I would proudly take two strikes if I had come up with something like that.

 

How can someone not laugh at that video? Even if it was me portrayed as Hitler during the whole Giving Tree debacle, I still would have found it hilarious.

It's all about context.

 

Arch has recently made it very clear that if you use someone's image in a meme or a post, you better make sure it's ok with them. In this case, it was a video with a boardie being portrayed and named by the captions.

 

It wasn't ok with the boardie, as evidenced by his post in the moderation area, so the only possible result was a strike. If the Mods had failed to do this, they would have been ignoring the rules and immediately accused of favoritism by the usual group.

 

So, again, it's all about context. If a friend made a video of me, I would laugh like hell and probably return the favor in some way. All good fun. Most of my friends like to play with grappling hooks and enjoy taking large chunks of flesh out of each other. And obviously, no one is reporting or complaining about anyone. But if it isn't a friend, and they take offense...well...then you're playing with fire.

I can understand that. It's unfortunate that humor is missed sometimes and things are taken too seriously.

 

I thought the video was very comical. Does anyone NOT think of Bosco as "Mr. Comic Movie." It's his expertise. His thing. I think it was very comical to portray him as the dictator and everyone cowering before him regarding movie threads and taking over Comics General. It was good satire used to get a laugh out of a long controversial issue. It was just a roast. Apparently good fun isn't allowed unless you have a secret handshake with someone.

 

I know it was ... but come on, that was just a comical video that everyone chuckle over.

His attempt at ruling the movie subforum with an iron fist, when he was adamantly opposed to it in the first place and then trying to take credit for making it happen, is so delicious that it shall sustain me through these trying times.

 

But the hypocrisy of starting threads to take a shot at Kav was great entertainment.
