And, of course, there was that unfortunate incident on the Pitkeys Island where American ants escaped from their Uncle Milton ant farm, impregnated all the British female ants, destroyed their tea and produced the now infamous bone-eating progeny...the Silicates.

My favorite giant crab fight.

 

I haven't seen that film in years! I'm guessing the guy in the claw didn't make it ;) If that film had been made today, he would've been snipped in half and suffered a prolonged and agonising death...

 

I bet that clip was the inspiration for Smith's novel.

They also carried tiny guns and forced the villagers to sing "Chim Chim Cher-ee" in Van Dyke's weird accent.
