Hellblazer 1 is on the way up, both raw and slabbed. 9.8 just sold for over 140.

Obviously this book won't be seeing the same kind of attention as Swamp Thing 37, but its a book to watch.

I was debating going after that 9.8. I think the buyer got a decent price on it.

Only 36 9.8 copies on the census, which is not very many for a key copper book.

Most likely primarily due to the book not being worth the cost to slab. If pieces rise you will see the census go way up.

Yeah I was actually going to bid on that 9.8 but forgot about it. I probably would have paid 150 for it. I believe GPA is around 100, with the last sale being 120 a few weeks ago, although I could be mistaken.

The prices on that New Teen Titans 44 continue to wow me. Not even 2 years ago you could pick up slabbed 9.8 copies of that book for $50 or less. Really unless Nightwing ever makes it to the big screen I don't see what the big deal is with that book and why everyone feels the need to skyrocket it.

This book is essentially a mega key in the Batman mythos. Some day I will write up a lengthy post about how important this book is. It also isn't hurting it any that is the origin of Deathstroke. Finally the black cover does make it tougher than average to find in very high grade compared to many other CA books. (Only 50 or so new 9.8 have popped up on the census since it became a hot book mid 2013.)

I look forward to reading that post. NTT #44 is a cool book. Missed the boat on that one. I'll have to try and fine one locally so i can put one into the collection.

What's more important to the Batman "mythos": Grayson quitting as Robin or becoming Nightwing??

Not sure myself, but one book is way undervalued accordingly.

I agree that Grayson quitting (New Teen Titans 39) is a very undervalued book, it can't compare to TT 44 in which he becomes a new hero (character) - TT 39 is also Wally West quitting as Kid Flash, but it's more of an "event" than a true key.

The entire Judas Contract story arc makes it all come together. All four of those books should be on a "must read" list.

Up until last year, selling the entire Judas Contract storyline was the only way for me to sell NTT 44 raw.
