Some good sales in there, but is that a typo on ASM 300? An actual NM copy for $122?

I still can't believe how some of these books are fetching such crazy prices. I no longer try to keep up. More power to the sellers and luck to the buyers that some of those comics may actually retain some value.

I remember when I was a kid and some of the old-timers would treat late Silver and early Bronze like drek, while I revered it like lost treasure recovered from the Well of the Souls.

But when it comes to early 90s books, I can't believe certain issues I once owned stacks of, now sell for hundreds of dollars.

It's like you said though, if the buyers and sellers are both happy, then all is right with the world.

well its all first appearances lately as #21 isn't technically a first appearance although it almost is with the radical new direction the book took. I dunno, I get that people want first appearances right now but a 30 year old mega classic ought to be an exception, no? (shrug)

Seriously SW21 is the best single comic I've ever read. I recommend it to anyone and everyone.

The best single comic I ever read was Popeye 326. He eats some tainted spinach and goes on a hallucinogenic murderous rampage that makes your average Tarantino film look like an animated Disney movie.

Haha, nooooooooo...

If this is true, I have to get one....

lol...do you have a picture of the comic?

Before I even read the 155 new posts since my last visit, I'm going out on a limb and say that no more than 1 new book will be discussed as heating up. Prove me wrong!

Update : I didn't know about Swamp Thing 53 so that's one. I'm not counting Doctor Strange with Sha-Na-Na because A) It's a graphic novel and 2) it would make me wrong.

I wouldn't call Swamp Thing 21 cold.

It still fetches a decent price, and I sold 2 copies in less than a week.

I definitely wouldn't call that ice Cold.

There's clearly still demand for the book, and with more single issues in the Moore Run turning in to "key" books, I think it's bringing more attention to the run as a whole as well.

I agree, I'm glad I picked up the run when I did, it seemed like they just dried up one day and started creeping up in price. If one run deserved to have attention brought to it, it's swamp thing.

Yes, assume you mean that's low? It was 9.2/9.4 but yes I thought it'd go higher but that's the roulette wheel that is ebay... listed as 0.99 btw as were all the others...

My eyes did bug out a bit when I saw the $122 for the ASM 300. I sold my FN copy for that much :( Thanks for the info since I love to see what books sell for when posted as an auction.

Since you listed both ASM #300 and #301 I thought I'd bring this up:

I was at a customer's house yesterday as he wants to submit about 50 Moderns to CGC. He's submitting 2 nice 300s and a 301. My jaw dropped when I checked GPA and saw what ASM 301 was going for in CGC 9.8. It's almost bringing the same amount as #300! ASM #300 does bring a lot more in 9.6 though. I was just shocked to see what #301 sold for in 9.8. :o

How many are in the census though? Apparently it's very tough to get a 9.8. I believe there is a thread about it.
