Question about Punisher #54 1991

I have 2 copies of Punisher #54, one with & one without a glossy insert at the centerfold.

I tried to search for info but can't find any... anyone have info about it?

 

The insert is 8 pages:

pg 1 is a D&D ad

pg 2 & 3 are Fleer sports card ads

pg 4 & 5 are Konami videogame ads

pg 6 & 7 are WAM (Wild Agents of Marvel) club ads

pg 8 is a Sci-Fi book club ad

Is one a newsstand and the other a direct edition?

It could be something as simple as they ran out of the insert.

 

They could have also overproduced an insert for another book, and simply inserted the leftovers in other books printed that week.

 

 

I understand your interest in this, as in this day and age anything that makes a book different could possibly make it worth more. I dont see this happening for this book, however.

 

If you are searching for the answer because curiosity is eating at you, its prolly one of the first two examples I gave.

Is there any possibility that the insert was removed by a previous owner? With an insert of that size, it would leave the centre a bit loose so it should be easy to tell.

Thanks, guys! Gaz, I did think of that also so I looked at it to see if that was the case, but it didn't seem like it was messed with...
