How%20about%20...gif

This show gets discussed here so often that I thought it deserved a thread.

It has also spawned three comic book mini series:

Supernatural: Origins

Supernatural: Rising Son

Supernatural: Beginnings End

I never miss an episode.

What do you think of the show?

I adored the show when it had a huge amount of X-Files producer influence during seasons 1-4, but it's slowly gotten away from that as people left and went elsewhere, and I haven't watched this new season at all. I found myself skipping through almost all of last season (when did Dean become the whiney sensitive one?!?). I will probably catch up with it once the show ends.

But to say I still don't love the show would be lying, especially since I have the two-door version of their ride in my driveway:

I used to own a '68 two-door. Unfortunately it was a 307. Biggest trunk I've ever seen.

Yeah, it's funny - the four door has smaller trunk space. If they'd have gone with a two door, they could have stash bazookas that shoot rock salt in the trunk and still have room for all their equipment.

I found season 7 to be very weak. It's no secret that Castiel has become a huge fan favorite...so lets barely use him at all in the season and drag bringing him along into season 8. The Levithans and their entire story line were unfortunately very lame from bibing to the turducken feed farms, and unfortunately that was the main storyline for season 7.

I do love the classic rock they play and how well some it goes with scenes in the show. My favorite was when they spent time earlier in the episode making fun of Jefferson Starship and then at the end of the episdoes Miracles by Jefferson Starship starts playing in the juke when the big revelation that Castiel has been up to no good is made.

Castiel also has the funniest scenes. One of the best is the episode where he watches porn. His phone issues. Another favorite is when talking about Cupid, Dean calls them a fat kid in diapers. Castiel's immeadiate dead pan response is, "Their not incontient."

The show has a lot of god pop culture refrences. There has been some good Deliverance ones. A lot of times it will also directly mention a movie or character that had common story lines which can help with people going, "that ripped off the sixth sense." At leat they know I and admit it.

Linda Blair was in one episode and at the end Dean is craving some pea soup.

One of my very favourite shows. Just about finished season 6.

I stopped watching around Season 4. It just seemed to start losing that energy from the earlier seasons.

How is it into Season 6?

Really enjoying it - some very clever episodes, and very funny.

Some people have said it really changed after season 5 because that is when the main step ended and the show was supposed to end but Castiel alone made season 6 enjoyable.

Yeah, the Leviathon story arc wasn't my favorite, although it had some interesting plot angles.

The show seems to be getting back to its grittier basics. In the last episode, Dean ends his protective relationship with the Vamp, Sam ditches the girl, Kevin ditches his mom, and Cas is back as a major character.

I'm always intrigued with the politics of Heaven, Hell and Purgatory on the show. Something's up with the Angels... hm

Yeah it was a great episode.

The leviathan story arc could have been darker and plan out better.

I am not a watcher of the show.

Mostly because I didnt like Jason Ackles (sp?) when he was in Smallville.

So when I see him, I have to change the channel.

Oh man, that's a bummer. I actually like him as an actor - I wish he'd be in more, but I have a suspicion that I'm in the minority on that.

We (me and my wife) followed it religiously probably starting around season 2, but then this past season (or maybe the last half of last season) our DVR got messed up and we didn't tape like 3 or 4 episodes, we thought the season was over or something, so then we were totally out of the loop and i guess the only way to catch up was to watch the episodes on the laptop, which i hate.

i kindah want to catch up, particularly because some of our other shows (fringe and probably the office) are ending and i'd like to put supernatural back on the list.
