Best single comic...

Marvel Team Up #1

Because it was the first new comic I ever bought.

I've read it more times than any other comic.

Amazing Spider-Man #252

What *is* this strange new costume?

Hulk #162

Another of my childhood favorites, and the only book with a total number of reads close to that of MTU #1.

Man this is tough as its hard to find a storyline that doesn't flow over more than one issue. I'm going to rattle off what ever come to mind in terms of sheer enjoyment:

TTA#100

Avengers#166

Thor #382

Iron Man #150 (super art work)

Avengers#4 (1st series)

FF#242

FF#260

Two of my favorite Silver Age issues were Silver Surfer # 4; Surfer Vs Thor with great John Buscema art and the 52 page Avengers # 93, Antman goes inside the Vision. Also Avengers # 57; first apperance Silver Age Vision.

Some others, Daredevil # 7; fights Namor & # 8; The Siltman issue.

Lastly, just about any Kirby/Ditko monster book! cloud9.gif

I always answer this question the same way:

Detective Comics #443, one of those 100-page super-spectacular issues

containing a great variety of material:

- the culmination of the Manhunter strip in a Batman x-over by Goodwin & Simonson (new)

- Golden Age Green Lantern by Alex Toth (reprint)

- origin of the Creeper by Ditko (reprint)

- Golden Age Batman & Robin by Jerry Robinson (reprint)

- Golden Age Spectre (reprint)

Strange Tales 178. The beginning of Starlin's Warlock saga that culminated in his "death" in Avengers Annual 7 / MTIO Annual 2.

I agree that SOST 21 was tremendous. Moore completely rewrote the rules for comic writing with that book - when Len Wein (Swampy creator) read the story, he said it made him feel redundant.

Another Alan Moore story I always loved was Superman Annual 11.

"For the Man Who Has Everything" is being adapted on Cartoon Networks "JLA Unlimited" right now

Moore & Gibbons get an on-screen credit too! 893applaud-thumb.gif

That story is awesome! I still have my "well read" copy

This is great that there is someone else besides me that really enjoyed that TPB classic! I have yet to find any other TPB to offer such high entertainment level - but I must be fair here - I have not read that many TBP's and I am sure that there ARE many that would rival that 1978 classic.
