THE 2013 CONVENTION SEASON SKETCH COVER SUPER/MEGA THREAD!

2,497 posts in this topic

ECCC was such a great show. Even though I was running from day 1-3, and my wife falling a bit ill on sat-sun, it was wonderful to get to run into some of you.

I won't make a list because I will forget someone, but huge thanks to everyone for making the show the best it could be. Joey for walking around with my books because I had no cell. Everyone who picked up blanks for me for being patient and understanding. Jake [ Menace ] and Beth for making sure I survived the con. Everyone I ran into was awesome as always.

For anyone who has gotten a chance to sit down and talk with Mr. Barry Kitson, you will know what I am talking about. Everyone else, really - go get a sketch from the man. He is amazing to his fans, and unbelievable artists. Great with kids and adults and I enjoyed his company immensely.

I am only sad that I was not able to spend more time with the man. You may have to wait hours in line to get a sketch, but never once did I walk away disappointed.

I know not all on blanks, some on paper - but showing them off anyway because Barry is fantastic.

My son asked Barry for a Lizard to which he replied " Wha? The Reptile? lol " Barry said he has never really drawn a Lizard so it was new for him

Enough thanks can not be given to Mr Kitson and the people with him. You guys rock. Thank you letters are being drafted now, Art is at the framers. :)

Picked up some Keys from Mr Greg Reece's Rare comics. Greg has just now made it out to west coast shows and I am sure glad that he did. Fantastic knowledgeable dealer with a unbelievable stock. Plus the dude sold me a 1st appearance of FFF. FOOM!

Two other people of interest. Tucked away in the gaming area is Larry Elmore. My Idol and probably the greatest Fantasy artist of all time, with no insult to Frank. Getting this chance to talk with him about chucking dice and the lasting effect of art made the whole ECCC trip worth while. If nothing else happened for me good from Seattle this was way more then enough.

Thank the god lord no one I know seen how I reacted here, or made any internet gifs out of it.

And then David Petersen. Anyone who knows me gets that Mouse Guard is one of my favorite Comics. I was lucky enough to get a chance to purchase the B-W version of Winter from Dave at the show and get a sketch done.

And even though this one is not on a blank I thought everyone would still get a kick out of it~!

Doug - Mine as well now. First stop shop for anyone looking for great stuff. It was fun just to hold a 7.0 AF #15 ;)

NYComics - Thanks much! Most hard-core comic people would shake their heads at what I picked up, but I figured it was worth sharing some of it. I did not show some of the really odd stuff ;)

Hope everyone had a great show!

Troy you got some awesome stuff! Love the Timms and Barry's Enchantress. And if your son wasn't already hooked, I bet that Lizard sealed the addiction. :)

The TMNT Commision is whole other level stuff, and I think "Benton's Pizza" has a nice ring to it. (thumbs u
