JC is the antithesis to this idea of communities "graduating" and the hilarious part is that all these guys kvetching and posting whambulance photos are the biggest cry-babies on the forum whenever JC steamrolls through. lol

I know that's not pointed at me. :taptaptap:

hm

Link please. zzz

I want to go on record as saying that I've been here for 10 years and there has never, ever been a bigger batch of whiny noobs as there has been in the last year.

How about we just be civil to one another and try to remember what it was like to be new ?

Actually, if you scare off the new... no future new

Arch/Mods - I propose a forum specifically for new members. I think that as soon as a new member signs up, he/she gets a message saying it is recommended that new members post only in the New Member forum (say, for 6 months).

You see, we go through this caustic cycle ad infinitum: new member commits the heinous crime of asking a question that has been asked before, older members pounce on him/her for their unconscionable laziness and startling idiocy, new member - shocked and aghast at being attacked for (GASP!) asking for help - swings back at the blood-thirsty gang that is seeking revenge for unsettled injuries inflicted long ago, the mob sets on the new member like vultures at a carcass. Repeat.

So...can we start a New Member forum area? It would help. I know it would.

Sometimes I think that people want some kind of kumbaya utopia where everyone says please and thank you and by your leave.

If we haven't yet been able to make that happen in real life then who's loony enough to think that we can make it happen on an internet message board?

Jeffro - they're called "manners" and lots of people OUT THERE have them. Try them sometimes...

lol I'm going to exercise some right now and refrain from responding as I would like to.

:golfclap: There ya go Jeffro - that wasn't so hard was it?

And I've been here 2 years and there's never ever been a bigger batch of old-time DBs as there has been in the last 10 years

You should have been here around 8 years ago. This place was brutal.

It's a cake walk around here now. You really have no idea how subdued it is now.

A much better idea is not letting anyone start new threads for six months or not even post for 90 days. Read, learn, drink it in. Then ease in.

It is always the guys who come out guns blazin' who have problems. If you get invited to a block party and show up drunk, pop three Viagra and try to bone the neighbors daughter, do you think you are going to be well liked?

Are vets dooshers sometimes? Absolutely. But coming in and making yourself at home without getting the lay of the land is just as rude. Take responsibility for your actions, n00bs.

I wish we could see that for the sales threads at least.

This really is a much gentler place than it was several years ago, yet the butthurt has never been stronger.

Not true. New members who simply ASK A QUESTION get blasted. You're twisting reality to justify your actions
