accessndx
What would have a better value a numbered one raw or a green label 9.8? I really want to get my copy graded but its numbered but not signed. Best thing you can do given the circumstances: hold it, wait for another comicon where Frank or Chris is going to be at. Let them sign it and verify they numbered it initially. Then hand it over to the CGC for a yellow label. In theory it should work. No. After-the-fact verification doesn't work with SS books. What'll happen is that CGC will give the book a yellow label and consider the original number that's written on the cover a grade-affecting defect. So you just verified my original statement: it'll get a yellow label. Disregardless of the grade-affecting defect how is that not better than a raw or a green? Raw would still have the aforementioned defect so if and when it does get graded, it's there nonetheless. If you submit it without any oversight from the CGC in that state it's going to end up getting a green. Only way to obtain yellow is what we both stated....if that's even true because some folks seem to disagree with that assessment. I'm not entirely sure either way, but given a range of choices the method I indicated appears to be plausible.
krighton
bet it comes down to 9.2 for a grade.

It would get a lower grade because of the hand numbering, even though the book may be in 9.8 shape, it may only get a 9.4-9.6. If that doesn't bother anyone, by all means go for it (thumbs u

whetteon
This is my voice. I am yapping in this thread for no apparent reason. I like to type. Do you see the letters in my typed words? Can you make them out and form a sentence in your brain with them? I think that about sums it up.

cujobyte
So still just 31? You are forgetting Chris's "compt" copies, of which I'm getting 1 that was in agreement with me purchasing his cover art. I inquired as to more copies, but he said he had none left for purchase.
Mike's Rack
So any confirmation other than your one? I'm beginning to suspect that the unsigned unnumbered are not as rare as once thought. Depending on how many comp copies, there could be quite a few out there.
