Possibly to try and capture different demographics. Since comics were primarily sold at magazine stands in the 1940's perhaps they wanted "Magazine" in the title in an attempt to raise sales. That was my initial thought when I saw the 2 different titles years ago.

The "Real Life Picture Magazine" title is not exclusive to issue #3. I have seen them as high as #18 or so. One thing is for certain, the "Real Life Picture Magazine" issues are much much harder to find than the "Real Life Comics" title.

These boards are so great. Even after 30 yrs collecting, had no idea of that title disparity.

Did anyone see the Real Life Comics #3 graded Fair by the seller that sold on ebay for $1925 the other day?

yeah, with the big piece out of the front cover that seemed like a good price.

A shockingly high price, but click on the "Bids" and you see it was mostly 2 determined bidders slugging it out, take them out and it would have sold about $300....

I have a low grade raw copy packed away. Approx 2.5/3.0

I remember you had a copy and I thought you sold it on ebay. Did you find another?

Good call! I forgot about that beat copy I sold years ago on eBay.

Can't say that for sure. There could just as likely have been a few potential bidders who wrote it off after it got to a certain level.
