I have this one, I was doing a comic convention were Mike was signing books, and I noticed he was doing sketches. We struck up a conversation, and he did a profile sketch of the Punisher in this book for free, ahhhh the good old days.

I use to have this Punisher pose with a Black Spider-Man crawling around in the background as a poster on my bedroom wall as a kid. For the life of me I cannot find that specific poster anywhere. :pullhair:

Mike is DEF alive and still as awesome as ever.

Around 2004 he basically retired from the con scene and accepting commission requests.

Since 2008 I have had a yearly private signing with Mike (where all of the CGC SS books posted here came from)

Mike has been busy working in licensing work for DC. Basically toy art and other promotional materials. Hes still producing a ton of art, just isnt credited for it.

He made a rare convention appearance last year at HeroesCon for the 30th anniversary and earlier this year at the Toronto show.

You can keep up to date on Mike by visiting his website at www.mikezeck.com

I'm a total fan boy of Zeck's work in the 80's. Of all his numerous classic covers, and there are quite a few, I think I like Web of Spider-Man #32 the most.

:headbang:

I have been looking for at least a CGC 9.6 of that book for awhile now simply b/c of the cover (and it is part of one of my all-time fave Spidey storylines...)

Such a cool cover...Sigh...

Maybe Jim Lee can take notes looking at Mike Zeck covers so Jim Lee can be shown how it's done.

Holy ! You said something I actually agree with.

Hell just froze over.

I will be posting details in a few days about my upcoming sketch opp and private signing with Mike Zeck.

Would there be the possibility of mailing you my personally bound Team America book for him to sign & sketch in? I've been hoping someday to get him to do that in it, and it's so rare that he gets out to conventions.

Sorry but the opp is limited to 15 total sketches and all are on blanks to be CGCed. Mike has made 2 convention appearances within the last year and I wouldnt be shocked if he makes a few more in the next few years as well.

Any chance I can mail you my 300 X-Force #1s for him to sign?

I know he had nothing to do with that book. But I figured that would be the only way to add value to this material.

:insane:

Sweet. Any hints on where its going to be?

The signing will be during a stop over in Atlanta on my way up to HeroesCon in June. This signing is not tied to any public appearance by Mike.

Great example of a cool book!

Sometimes you miss all that action in the background due to the focus on the foreground. There's some major butt-kicking going on back there.

Is that Tigra being treated like a baseball by She-Hulk? And who is that bringing a crowbar to a Hulk boulder fight? I don't think that one is going to end well.
