Need some help grading an FF 22

I'm getting my scan finished up for my Massive Fantastic Four sale phase four - final phase.

 

The 22 is one of those tough to grade books.

Would be a F/F+ but one massive corner crease that barely breaks color. You can catch it on Reed's head and blue arm. There is also a non-color breaking crease on the back cover.

 

Opinions?

I guess I would give it a VG/FN 5.0. It's a nice looking (ie FN) book with a VG type defect.

I could agree with a listing of F or F- depending on the overall in-hand appeal.

Creases like this are always a tough call. It's long, but light and the crease isn't solid all the way through...

 

I'd say 5.0 / 5.5 would be a fair grade.

Minus that crease it's an easy 5.5, maybe even 6.0....

With it...OGG allows "moderate" creases at 5.0, and in their infamous chart defines moderate as up to 1"... so technically that would make it a 4.0...

But the key word in OGG is GUIDE....so, I would go with the 5.5

While arguably it is a significant or major crease, overall it is very clean, and does not detract significantly from this otherwise FN grade book. I'll stick with my half point deduction (and only because it's an early FF).

THE LARGE CREASE ON THE FRONT COVER IS HARD TO OVER LOOK AND DETEMINES THE SUB 5 GRADE HIGHER THAN A 4.5 THOUGH. 4.7-4.8.

I was thinking 4.5 too, but since more than half the folks here say 5.0 or 5.5 I'll call it a 4.5/5.0 tweener.

Nice copy of this book, Aces. It presents well, but I can't call it anything higher than 4.5 due to the massive crease on the FC.
