Did they do that often? They did. Check out Jughead 1 & Jughead 69, Archie 43 & Laugh 50. I'm sure there must be many more. They did it quite a bit in the late 50's and early 60's. Here's another example: archiecomicscollector and Cliff R.

I'm not sure if it was a trend but a number of the repeat covers tend to be less GGA in their style. This one stayed about the same although Veronica's figure is emphasized a bit less in the repeat. B & Vs faces look to be drawn "longer", with longer necks in the updated versions. I think they are much cuter in the earlier versions. lotemo
In this case, the newer version has to be more risque because photobucket deleted the second image from my account and says it doesn't comply with their policy. I have no idea why. gadzukes and archiecomicscollector

I have no idea why. The image may suddenly reappear. A week or two ago, I had a bunch of scans disappear with the notation that I had move the original images (which I hadn't). The next day, the scans were all back. Just PB weirdness, I guess.
archiecomicscollector
I don't have Archie No. 1 - 10 or 50 in my collection (yet!), but I did just recently acquire three unused postcards featuring Archie No. 30, 43 and 50, c. 1986 for my collection Sqeggs

ThothAmon
A nice early run of Archie's just sold on ebay. 4-8 sans 6. I picked up the nice 5, a yellow Halloween cover. Also, a lot of 9-13 with two 13's. Final seconds were like sharks feeding. https://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-GOLDEN-AGE-ARCHIE-COMICS-9-10-11-12-13-13-COMPLETE-NICE-PAGE-QUALITY/263809589252 https://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-1944-GOLDEN-AGE-ARCHIE-COMICS-8-CLASSIC-COVER-COMPLETE-NICE/253745892256 https://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-1944-GOLDEN-AGE-ARCHIE-COMICS-7-SPANKING-PANEL-CLASSIC-CVR-COMPLETE-NICE/253745877555 https://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-1944-GOLDEN-AGE-ARCHIE-COMICS-7-SPANKING-PANEL-CLASSIC-CVR-COMPLETE-NICE/253745868869 https://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-1943-GOLDEN-AGE-ARCHIE-COMICS-5-CLASSIC-COVER-COMPLETE-NICE/253745798424 https://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-1943-GOLDEN-AGE-ARCHIE-COMICS-4-CLASSIC-COVER-COMPLETE-NICE/263809420748 Ricksneatstuff
