Stan Lee signs so much that unsigned is the value

64 posts in this topic

As a collector, I'd love to get a Stan Lee SS for my PC. It doesn't matter how many he has signed.

Why the heck are you buying comics for your computer???

lol

I like to buy books, scan them, and just have a collection on my PC. I sell the physical copies afterwards.

Not to mention that fact that his premise is without merit.

[font:Book Antiqua]I beg to differ...

as of July 01 2013

A search of CGC ss on EBay show 3,809 results

an a search for CGC ss Stan Lee show 764 results

Almost ¼ of the market

The OP Comment its not without merit...[/font]

I said the premise is without merit, not the comment. The premises are that

1. value is based on "rarity"

2. the ratio of signed/unsigned copies is a determining factor in rarity

Both are either incorrect or incomplete.

Considering that he signed 22,000 comics at the last ComCom, eBay seems to be about 21,236 books short

I found a 7 year-old cashew under my couch cushion.

That would be lunch at 'The House of Comics'

last ComCon Stan Lee signed 22,000 comics... since he is at every Comic Convention that adds up... one day many years from now an unsigned Spidy will be worth far more than signed. Just the way it goes, rarity is the key.

You realize that following your logic still means that an unsigned book is more rare than a signed book. Sure it isn't that "rare." But the OPs comment isn't true either.
