7 posts in this topic

Hi Folks,

This was posted at comicart-l and I thought it deserves to be posted here too:

---

This is a listing of stolen art, with a few more pieces not having scans.

I have received 2 emails in the last 10 hours of people being offered this

artwork. If you are contacted, please get as much information as you can and

contact me -- robert@... or 226-979-7803

ANY and ALL help is greatly appreciated.

Ok, another update, looks like things are ok:

-----

Attention group,

Things have progressed pretty quickly over the last 24 hours. I

have been contacted by a comic shop in San Diego which have purchased about 1/2

the artwork. And the hotel is

in possession of some artwork as well. I still don't have a full

accounting, so I don't know if anything is missing, but if there is it

is minimal.

I had a number of members reach out to me, and it was these clues that

helped piece things together. That and the very honourable dealings of

the shop owner, who has been very helpful and been very honest.

I will have a full accounting later today, and I will follow up with the group,

but for the time being I have deactivated the gallery to keep the comic shop and

staff from being implicated and they have been completely forthcoming and,

truly, more active than the hotel or police on this matter.

It looks like things will be resolved quickly,

though the police need to pursue the thieves, who are clearly connected to the

hotel in some capacity.

Thank you to the list members, as well. It's been 22 hours of gut wrenching

dread.

Robert

Just heard from Robert a couple of minutes ago, it appears that everything is pretty much accounted for now, he's just waiting for some pictures from the hotel to visually confirm what they have.
