'Batman Vs. Superman' Reportedly Filming In Superman Creators Birthplace Toronto

With everyone still talking about the recent announcement of Warner Bros. preparing a Batman vs. Superman movie for the summer of 2015, the Canadian press are reporting that production for the superhero team-up film will move from Vancouver (where a lot of Man of Steel was filmed), supposedly relocating Toronto. The reported move is motivated by the tax credits offered elsewhere, which Vancouver can’t match.

The news of Batman vs. Superman’s relocation follows the recent reports about Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot moving production from Vancouver to Louisiana to take advantage of the better tax credits that city has to offer. Fox previously relocated X-Men: Days of Future Past from Vancouver to Montreal.

Vancouver may be in danger of further filmmaking defections due to the tax credit situation, which could cost British Columbia’s economy hundreds of millions of dollars each year. The three films that moved production from Vancouver this year have combined production budgets well in excess of $500+ million.

You might recall that The Dark Knight Rises moved production from Chicago over the issue of tax credits, and several other cities under consideration lost the chance to be part of that film’s production due to their inability to offer up better numbers to attract the production. With studios regularly spending in excess of $200 million on summer blockbusters, the tax credits become increasingly important to the studios. Warner Bros.’ previous attempt at a superhero team-up movie, Justice League: Mortal, was shut down in part due to the loss of tax credits for filming in Australia.

It appears Batman Vs. Superman (as the film will probably be titled, based on what we know now) is already gearing up to start pre-production in the coming months, and will move into full production early next year, to meet the 2015 deadline for release. Director Zack Snyder is working with screenwriter David Goyer on the story, and the -script will be completed later this year. We should start hearing tentative casting buzz soon, and official casting announcements for Batman and (probably) Lex Luthor in the coming months.

Isn't the rumor still that The Torch is going to be played by an African American actor?

How tall will she be?

6'1" Jonni Storm. (I wish I could have dotted the 'i' with a heart)

I love when Batman kicks Superman's azz! I thought the DKSB one was especially fun (you know, when the other heroes helped as well.) It is funny knowing that when Miller is writing it that Superman has no chance at all, despite being powerful enough to move planets.

If it was batman solo movie then yes but is a duo movie with him and superman with out a Batman origin. So I'm Ok with having a new batman with out giving him a solo film plus I think their going to have some surprises for us in the movie.

:gossip: I can see this as a bridge to camo/supporting roles, (in assisting

Batman) for the Flash, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, and

Wonder Woman :wishluck:, because Superman is afterall Superman.
