It is a line that is lighter, appears to be a printing defect of some sort as it is uniform in width.

Also, like the X-men1 I have up, the soiling/discoloration on the back is much lighter in hand.

I hadn't looked at this for a long time and was hoping I had at least an 8.0. I forgot that it had the staple stress. Picked up a nice run late 90's for dirt cheap and daily kick myself for selling off my # 42 and 55 that each came back 9.2 or 9.4, old label.
