Now I'm SURE you wouldn't be getting a Martin guitar & mandolin but the idea that you'd be getting BOTH a guitar & mandolin for selling some seeds .... I'd be involved with that somehow.

An archery set!!!!!          Can you IMAGINE if someone offered to send your young comic reader a WEAPON like this today?!?!?!????

Of ALL of the examples (and there are MANY) that I could share of the old Charles Atlas program, THIS ad stands out as the most hurtful of the ones I've recently seen looking thru my books.

Now there are an ENORMOUS amount of back cover ads featuring the coveted Daisy rifle, but I'll forgo any of those to feature what is so far my favorite gun related ad. This ad on the back cover of Captain America #33 features by far the most impressive "gun" that I can ever recall seeing offered in a comic ad: A tripod mounted MACHINE GUN!!!!!

Holyoke’s ads from Cat-Man Comics are great examples of that too I feel.

Oh yeah, I know that site! GREAT stuff there! Yeah, Cat-Mans are tough and expensive. I only have one & it's nothing to write home about.

Always loved to pore over the firework ads that only seemed to appear in Atlas comics, in the '50's.  That said, here's one from the BC of Detective Comics 16, 1937.  Notice the racist description in the yellow list, 8th item down.
