I totally agree. I love that you mentioned the letter column because SC gets more entertainment value from them than any other comic around. I can't count how many letter columns are reduced to comic fansturbation and/or plot critiques/predictions/suggestions (Walking Dead, anyone?). But Fraction & Zdasky do a great job of choosing letters that highlight the lives of the readers (Saga does a great job of this too) while adding hilarious commentary to boot. From the #4:

I wish Paul Thomas Anderson made it rain porn mags in Magnolia instead of frogs. I mean, I would still beat off to the scene, but it would just be better. -CZ
I recently had to weed out my pull list and decide which titles I would switch to TPBs, and one big factor was if was willing to sacrifice the letters columns, and no way was I willing to do that with SC.

Time for an agreefest, because I agree with you 100%. Saga's is great as well, but SC's is just a dirty sex column with jokes mixed in, purely incredible. I was just wondering if they were going to add the lettercol to the trades which they probably won't, but should.

I think the 4th print had a print run of 2418 if I read Comichron's numbers correctly. If that's the case, these could be WAY under printed imo.

Even the "sexy" chick ones.

 

Only one I can recall liking is the Jay and Silent Bob #1. But it has some sentimental value as I met Jay when that came out and had him sign it (weird & cool screening of Mall Rats and Jay did a Q&A in a small theatre at CU).

a new record for reprints? well besides the 1000 of covers for WD #1..

 

Seems like it. My store usually doesn't get additional printings, but they have for this book and they sold out of #3 third print last week.

Thanks, yes those are the ones I grabbed. I have no idea why either. Maybe it was the color on the F.C. that interested me. Maybe I'll read one when I get a minute.

A little late to the game but I got lucky enough to get the ECCC trade and read the first two issues...so far so good :)

 

any one have a set of books for sale? I would like nice copies ..also interested in any Issue 1 5th prints SS
