283 slabs in tonight's weekly Heritage auction...

...and only 8 of them are DCs. doh!

What's up with that?

People collect DC, Flippers flip marvels.

Well, that and more people collect Marvel ( see here ). Though 283 to 8 does seem a bit out of whack.

EDIT: Looked again. It's only 147 Marvels to 8 DC. Not that it makes it that much closer to the 2 to 1 I would expect.

I was speaking with a former DA this morning that has huge collections of vintage comics. He has no real money worries, but we got to talking about the market. I said you never know when the market bubble could burst, and I advised HA for marketing high end comic books.

Does anyone here have thoughts on where the market is at this point and a crystal ball on the future? Is HA the best way to auction?

I wonder how many of those 8 DC comics were Batman and Superman ones?

People collect Marvel, then Batman, and then Superman.

The rest are a spoon shoot. :)

HA gets decent prices, but their fees are sky high. I would not use them.

For an auction format, I'd go with CLink or CConnect - I don't know that either of those is better than the other.

He could also list them as BIN's on mycomicshop.com, which I think has the lowest fees around. They cross-list everything on E-Bay, so they get decent exposure.
