It's more than a little interesting that Marvel's color seperator / plate maker was still referring to them as "Timely" in 1967.

Fascinating stuff.

Such unique, historic and important Marvel ephemera is rarely ever offered for public sale.

It comes with the original "Chemical Color Plate Corp." sleeve.

They'd only officially been Marvel for 6 or 7 years at this point, but were Atlas for a decade before that.

He was probably a real old-timer that said "I don't acknowledge no Marvel, they won't last". :preach:

Yeah, you'd figure -- some sort of institutional memory for a long-time client, probably. As you say, the last "branding" use of Timely would have been some 17-18 years prior to that.

This one's a piece of Spider-man history. It includes not just the original folder from colorist Joe Rosas, signed by him on every page, but also comes with a page by page hand typed plot from Marvel, which I have never seen with any other color guide.

The story by Howard Mackie with Joe Bennett artwork, focuses on the relationship between Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson.
