Hi. Selling a couple of copper books today. As usual, No hall of probes, deadbeats, or hooligans. Shipping is for lower 48 states only, USPS priority box shipping is $10 each, but if you buy both, I'll still just charge you $10. No international buyers. Sorry, have had too many problems as of late. PayPal only, and payment should be made within 24 hours. I always ship next business day, unless I'm dying or dead. Then, I'll just have my wife make sure you get your books quickly. Any questions, just PM me. First :takeit: gets it, or if PM'd first. Thanks all.

Amazing Spider-Man 300 CGC 9.8. To start, ***the 9.9 Is NOT for sale. *** Just wanted to get that out of the way. Continuing... This 9.8 is the finest example of this book I've ever seen. Sharp corners, no spine stresses, no rough cut on the right edge, and no bindery cuts that plague this book. These are only a couple of comparative shots of the two books. I subbed both of them. Reason for no 9.9? Has to be the interior sig. The OO had McFarlane sign this, and a handful of others at a show in the early 90's. That sucks. CGC has said they downgrade for interior signatures. Most don't make 9.8 because of this. Why buy? It is probably in CGC's best interests to start authenticating cover and interior signatures, This is just my opinion. There are mountains of books out there that people won't send in because of this policy. Charging a premium for authenticating (ala PSA) would allow people to send in those books to get authenticated and graded. Everyone's happy. Except for those with bogus sigs. They may never decide to authenticate. Who knows? I never thought they'd charge for grading notes. Anyhow, as much as I'd like to sock this one away until that magical, theoretical time, I cannot. So, I'm selling the worlds nicest 9.8. I'll stake my reputation on the fact the sig is legit. I've dealt with the guy many times, and he is a standup guy with A LOT of signed books. The sig is about 2cm tall, and a few more wide. Small. ((( I have many shots of both books for a comparison))), if you PM me. The price is $850 via PayPal. The first four photos are of the 9.8, the one for sale. The last two pics are of the 9.9 that's not for sale.

Hopefully, I've given you more of an example of comparisons of each book. The price isn't so bad at $850 considering some meh 9.8's are scoring $750-800, with spine stresses, bad bindery corners, and the all to common right edge rough cut. I'll leave the book up for another day. It's only a 9.8 because of the interior signature, which is legit. Thanks for looking. I'll probably take this down tonight, so if you would like to see more pictures, or ask more questions, now is the time to do so.

9.8 is 9.8, do people pay more for "cleaner/sharper" 9.8's than "dirty" 9.8's? To me a 9.8 is a 9.8, I was not ware theres premium 9.8's and regular 9.8's

Crazy but true: there are some 9.8 books that are nicer looking (better eye appeal) than others. There's people who are into that and there's even a company that certifies those books:

http://cvacomics.com/

The OP is comparing his 9.8 to his 9.9 copy to justify his asking price and entice a potential customer. There's nothing wrong that and no good reason to thread carp; it's annoying to see that happen.

So to the OP... that 9.8 slab is sweet! GLWTS.

Thank you. (worship)

You would think a dildeaux like columbia and others would understand this simple concept, being here so long. I'll be keeping an eye out for his sales threads.

I think that is what the OP was trying to get across with the comparison of his 9.9. This most likely would have been a 9.9 had it not been for the signature on the first page. And obviously with a 9.9 we're talking $1,000's and not $100's. So, due to that, you're essentially getting a bargain despite the fact that you might be able to find a 9.8 cheaper. The book is amazing! (worship)

What is with all of the snarky comments being thrown around lately by many people? (shrug)

GLWTS! I envy the lucky eventual buyer!

I love the fact that "selling used cars" is completely uncalled for but then referring to the person as a dbag is completely acceptable
